SCM committee was formed in 2002-2003 with the support of the deans for
developing the Center. The members of the SCM committee are Lopez,
David (IET), Okonkwo, Patrick (MKT), Palaniswami, Kumar (MGT) and
Sprague, David (MGT).

Kumar
Palaniswami, PhD, professor from the Department of Management is the
Chair of the committee. Palaniswami teaches and conducts research in the
area of Operations Management, and in particular, in the areas of
Manufacturing Strategy/Operations, Quality Management and Purchasing and
Supply Chain Management. He has published several papers in research
Journals and has presented papers at National and International
conferences. He has also successfully completed consulting projects in
business organizations.
He was the Co-ordinator and Co-chairman of the International Conference
on Logistics and Supply Chain Management,

David
Lopez, DBA, professor from the Department of Industrial Engineering and
Technology. Lopez has published and done research in the areas of
Materials Management and Manufacturing Management. Lopez worked at the
Boeing Airplane Company for over 15 years in SCM related areas.

Patrick
Okonkwo, PhD, professor from the Department of Marketing and Hospitality
Services Administration. Okonkwo teaches Marketing and Logistics
Operations Management, has conducted research and published papers
related to the service sector supply chain. Okonkwo worked in the
private sector for over 10 years in SCM related areas.

David
Sprague, Ph.D., professor from the Department Management, teaches
Operations Management, Purchasing Management and Supply management. He
has conducted research and published papers related to the automotive
industry supply chain. He has also conducted seminars in Lean
Manufacturing for businesses. Sprague will apply his 15 years of private
business experience and 25 years of academic experience to the work of
the Center.
